ChatGPT citation score

Updated

Paste a page URL and Leadee scores it for citability — whether each passage opens with a direct answer, carries a statistic, a quotation or a named source, the exact signals an answer engine like ChatGPT looks for before quoting a page — then flags the weakest passages with a rewrite instruction. Not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI.

What this checks

  • Citability: does each passage answer with a number, a named source or a date
  • Which passages are weakest, with a concrete rewrite instruction
  • The same public weights and score bands as Leadee's general Content Score tool

Example result

Example

Citability 58%

  • Citability 58% (Fair) · 9 passages, 3 weak
  • Weakest: "Welcome to our blog about CRM tools."
  • Missing: a statistic, a named source

How to read your result

The score and the weakest-passage list come from the same engine as the general Content Score tool — fix the flagged passage first, since it is the one least likely to be quoted by any citation-driven answer engine, ChatGPT included.

Limitations

This scores one page in isolation against citability signals that apply across AI answer engines generally — it is not a test of whether ChatGPT specifically quotes this page for a given question; for that, Leadee's paid plans run a Live Test through OpenAI's own API.

How to fix what it finds

  1. Paste the URL of the page you want to score.
  2. Read the citability score and the weakest flagged passages.
  3. Apply the rewrite instruction to the weakest passage first.
  4. Re-run the score after you publish the edit.

Questions

Is this tool affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI?

No. Leadee is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI. "ChatGPT" is used only to describe the kind of answer engine this citability signal applies to.

Is this a different score from the general Content Score tool?

No — same engine, same public weights and bands; this page frames the result for ChatGPT specifically rather than AI answer engines in general.

Does a high score guarantee ChatGPT will quote this page?

No — it means the page carries the citability signals answer engines look for. Whether ChatGPT actually quotes a given page for a given question also depends on the question and the engine's sources at that moment.

Does scoring this page call ChatGPT or any other AI model?

No — the score comes from Leadee's own rule-based passage scoring, with no AI model call and no paid API involved.

Can GEO guarantee results?

No. AI answer engines change their output frequently, and no vendor — including Leadee — can guarantee a ranking or a mention. Leadee publishes confidence intervals on every metric so you can see how much a result can vary run to run.

How does Leadee measure AI visibility?

Leadee runs your prompt set against each AI engine on a weekly to daily schedule, depending on plan, through official vendor APIs (OpenAI, Gemini, Perplexity, Anthropic, DataForSEO) — never by scraping consumer chat interfaces — and reports mention rate, citation rate, average position, share of voice and sentiment with a 95% confidence interval.
