Traffic reality check

Updated

Enter the traffic number a tool or agency gave you, upload your own GSC or GA4 CSV export for the same month, and Leadee shows the ratio between that estimate and your measured traffic, where measured traffic peaked, how much it has fallen since, and whether the rise coincides with a known Google update — never implying anyone faked a number.

Run it now

Your own GSC or GA4 export for the same window as the estimate — never a number from a third-party tool. Not stored; only the summary result is saved.

What this checks

  • The ratio between a third-party estimate and your own measured GSC/GA4 traffic for the same 30-day window
  • The peak day and value in your measured traffic, and the drop from that peak to the latest 7-day average
  • Whether the rise toward that peak coincides with a known Google Search update

Example result

Example

Estimate 3.0x measured

  • Ahrefs estimated 90,000 visits; measured traffic was 30,000
  • Measured traffic peaked at 9,999 on 2026-09-25, down 15% since
  • The rise coincides with the March 2026 Core Update

How to read your result

The ratio compares an estimate to your own measured traffic for the same window — a gap is normal, not evidence anyone faked a number: estimate models, click share, device mix and tracking setup all differ. The peak, the drop since, and any overlapping Google update describe your measured traffic only; an overlap is phrased as "coincides with," never "caused by."

Limitations

This reads one CSV export for one window at a time and a Google update calendar that is updated by hand — it does not connect live to GSC/GA4, does not recompute history automatically, and an overlap with a Google update is a timing coincidence, not a proven cause.

How to use this result

  1. Enter the traffic number your estimate tool or agency gave you, its date and its name (e.g. "Ahrefs").
  2. Export a CSV from Google Search Console or Google Analytics 4 for the matching window.
  3. Choose GSC or GA4 as the CSV source and upload the file (under 5 MB).
  4. Read the ratio between the estimate and your measured traffic, and the peak/drop since.
  5. Check whether the rise toward the peak coincides with a known Google update.
  6. Sign up to connect GSC/GA4 directly so this reality check updates on its own.

Questions

Why does my estimate not match my measured traffic?

A gap between a third-party estimate (Ahrefs, SEMrush, an agency chart) and your own measured GSC/GA4 traffic is normal, not a sign anyone faked a number. Estimate tools model traffic from indexed rankings and click-through curves; your measured traffic comes from your own analytics, which differs by click share, device mix, bot filtering and how tracking is set up.

What counts as "measured" traffic here?

Only traffic from a CSV you export yourself from Google Search Console (clicks) or Google Analytics 4 (organic sessions) — never a number pulled from a third-party estimate tool. If you upload only one source, the result says so rather than assuming the missing source is zero.

What if I only have a GSC export, not GA4 (or the other way round)?

The check still runs on whichever source you upload, and the result names the one that is missing instead of treating it as zero traffic.

What does "coincides with a Google update" mean?

It means the rise toward your measured peak falls inside the window of a known Google Search update from the public status dashboard — a timing overlap, not a proven cause. The wording is always "coincides with," never "caused by."

Why do I need at least 14 days of measured data?

Fewer than 14 measured days is not enough to find a reliable peak or a stable 7-day average, so the tool reports "not enough data" instead of a ratio it cannot stand behind.

Is my CSV file stored?

No — the file is decoded in memory to compute the result, and only the summary numbers (not the raw file) are kept with your saved result.

Does this replace connecting GSC/GA4 to a project?

No — this free tool checks one estimate against one CSV export at a time. Signing up lets you connect GSC/GA4 directly so a project-level reality check stays current without re-uploading a file each time.

Can GEO guarantee results?

No. AI answer engines change their output frequently, and no vendor — including Leadee — can guarantee a ranking or a mention. Leadee publishes confidence intervals on every metric so you can see how much a result can vary run to run.

How does Leadee measure AI visibility?

Leadee runs your prompt set against each AI engine on a weekly to daily schedule, depending on plan, through official vendor APIs (OpenAI, Gemini, Perplexity, Anthropic, DataForSEO) — never by scraping consumer chat interfaces — and reports mention rate, citation rate, average position, share of voice and sentiment with a 95% confidence interval.
